‘Ribbon‘ Bread Boards and Serving Trays
The inspiration for the ‘Ribbons’ collection Bread boards and Serving Trays began with my desire to produce utilitarian pieces that were festive in nature. The natural flow of the ribbons beginning as a calm stream and then gradually intertwine, and interact with one another is symbolic of the way we connect with our family and friends when we share a meal together.
These ‘Three Ribbon’ Bread Boards are meticulously crafted from figured hard maple, American Cherry, and Australian Blood wood. Each ribbon is cut and inlayed entirely through the board from a combination of the above woods, with each ‘ribbon’ being accentuated with contrasting veneers. These board measures approx. 18″ L x 6″ W x 5/8-3/4″ thick.
Sanded smooth to perfection, all edges are gently rounded, and summon your touch.
Finished with three coats of mineral oil, the ribbon boards are perfect to use during special dinning occasions with friends and family as well as a meaningful work of art to hang or display in your kitchen.
